Besides mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is the most important analytical technique for determining the structure of molecules. The large-scale NMR instrument platform at the Faculty of Chemistry and Earthscience comprises 9 NMR spectrometers and offers students and scientists access to a wide range of modern measurement methods. With a throughput of > 30,000 samples/year in automation operation, we are one of the largest chemical instrument platforms in Central Germany. We advise scientists and students at FSU Jena on all aspects of NMR spectroscopy. We also carry out analyses and contract measurements for industrial partners and young start-ups, thus promoting the exchange of knowledge between universities and industry.
